Today you are really lucky – it is a two post Tuesday because today is my turn for my One Day in December Post!

One Day in December is the opportunity for many fabulous wedding suppliers and bloggers to share some of their highlights of 2011 and I am honoured to be amongst those.  My colleagues have thus far shared some very touching reflections on the year and I really encourage you to head on over to the schedule and check out those that you have missed so far.  Yesterday’s entry was from Chandra over at Oh Lovely Day – so why not take a look before coming back to hear about my highlights?

So now it is my turn to step up to the plate.  I don’t have a profound, insightful or moving sentiment to share with you today but it is something that is very close to my heart.  2011 was the year that saw the beginning of my very own wedding blog, yes these here pink and purple pages (though they didn’t start out quite so pink and purple, my initial design was actually black and very contemporary – but perhaps not very wedding friendly).  I started the blog in January and since then have poured in hour after hour of time researching, writing, editing and promoting these pages.  And I have loved every single one of those seconds.  I have loved that the blog has allowed me to become so immersed in an industry that I am so incredibly passionate about.

So, for my highlight of 2011 I am going to bring you some of the most beautiful inspiration and trends from my very first year of wedding blogging – and hopefully provide some eye candy for you brides-to-be at the same time:

Inspired by Catherine’s beautiful Alexander McQueen dress, lace has definitely been where it is at this year…

Vintage is definitely a wedding trend that just keeps getting better and better, I love the tea party feel of this year’s take on vintage…

Coral is definitely the new peach, a beautiful and soft colour palette…

And here is a few things I hope to see a lot more of in 2012:

Alternative dresses

I think that the traditional wedding gown will always reign supreme but it is great to see more variety in the designs on offer and I hope this continues to develop next year…

With the Queen’s Jubilee next year I am hoping that a little bit of extra bling seeps in….

More DIY

With belts tightening more and more people are looking to DIY projects to help make their big day special – and I think it is a fabulous way to make your day your own….
