Happy Friday one and all.  Today I have a special treat for those maid of honours amongst us who are looking for some DIY details to make their bride’s hen do extra special.  The lovely Rebecca from Chillisauce Ltd, and events organisation company specialising in hen nights

Here’s a little food for thought….

Planning your own Hen party or maid of honour for friend? In either case you will want some inspiration, especially if you want to do it yourself. I have put together a fail –safe checklist to ensure you and your hens have a fab night.

Where?

Whether you chose a venue or stay at home, chose a space appropriate for the activities and number of people.

If you are planning games, go for somewhere with a space to do so, or use more than one location for your party. Most party games can be played sitting down at a table, like a Mr & Mrs Quiz or Advice cards for the bride, where each guest writes one piece of advice; these can be kept as keep sakes from the party and read at the end of the night or kept for another day.

Save the date!

Make sure all your hens have plenty of notice of when you plan to hold your Hen Party. Also its gives you the opportunity to really personalise your invites and allude to the big event.

Make your own Hen night invites, or you can get them made for you in the style and theme of the night, there are lots of choices out there.

Pick a theme . . .

The idea behind the party will be the key to its success. Use personal attributes or favourite things of the bride’s for inspiration, like favourite era, or chose a style such as ultra glamorous, with a manicure party flowed by cocktails, super chic  with champagne tasting or a vintage Britain theme, serving drinks in tea cups and eating party food from cake stands, to really accessorise the event.

Details, Details

It really is all about the details. Selecting specific elements of the night will make the party really unique and unforgettable. A great idea is to pick food that the bride loves, go with a theme or let the bride be the theme, with all her favourite foods on the menu.

Another great idea is to create and name a cocktail after the bride, if you’re stuck for ideas, take a cocktail she already likes and change one ingredient to make it extra special. You really can add as many details as you like, from place names (but using nick names or a silly photo of each guest.); the possibilities are endless, so get creative.

I really love the cocktail idea, such a simple but effective idea –  and something you can always remember the hen party by, with a sneaky drink of your special cocktail.

Thanks so much for sharing your tips Rebecca!  And if you are stuck for inspiration for a hen party, why not head on over to Chillisauce and see what they have on offer.
