On this week’s list for the wedding venue focus is a venue that is actually pretty local to me. It is the beautiful Fawsley Hall, set in the Northamptonshire countryside. Surrounded by gardens that were landscaped by Capability Brown in the 1760s, Fawsley Hall is a Tudor house that once played host to Queen Elizabeth I.

And if it is good enough for Queen Liz then it would make a picturesque setting for your wedding…

As a wedding venue Fawsley Hall can host up to 150 guests in one of its private dining rooms either in Knightley Court or the main house.

The Saunders Room in Knightley Court
The Georgian Knightley Court, can accommodate 120 guests for a wedding ceremony and reception, has been completely rebuilt and elegantly furnished to create an ideal wedding venue for those looking for a romantic setting.
Fawsley hall is also fully licensed for wedding and civil ceremonies; with Knightley Court offering the Valentine Suite for ceremonies and the main house including the Victorian Salvin Suite, which views across the Tudor knot garden.

Those that are looking for a traditional church wedding can make use of the parish church, which is only a short walk from Fawsley Hall.

The hall also has some accommodation for the wedding party, with 58 Tudor, Georgian, Victorian or Modern bedrooms and suites in total, furnishings with each reflecting a period of style.

Your guests will be wowed by the exquisite food on offer at the hall with menus ranging from buffet to site down meal. Some of my favourite picks from the wedding menu include home smoked duck breast tart cananpes, seafood ravioli for starter and roast cutlets of lamb for main.

For the film lovers amongst us there is also a 29 seated cinema available throughout your day, and I personally would love to see a wedding that makes use of that – Hollywood stylee.

Love, Aphrodite x

On checking my web statistics I notice quite a few visits to my web site http://www.geoffsmithphotography.co.uk come from Aphrodite’s Wedding Blog, particularly the page on Fawsley Hall where I very often photograph weddings. It’s a fabulous venue which I love to work at, offering so many amazing backdrops both indoors and out. I will send a few Fawsley images.
